Want to design machinery that actually moves, works and gets built?
This is an opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to work on the design and development of automation machinery, equipment and mechanical systems.

You’ll take projects from initial concept through detailed design, manufacture, assembly and commissioning, creating practical mechanical solutions that perform reliably in real-world production environments.

Working alongside automation, electrical and engineering specialists, you’ll turn customer requirements into robust, manufacturable designs using sound mechanical engineering principles.

About the role
You’ll be hands-on across the full design and development process for automation machinery, equipment and mechanical systems, including:
  • Developing 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings
  • Designing mechanical components, mechanisms, frames, guarding and machine assemblies
  • Applying DFM/DFA, tolerancing, material selection and sound mechanical engineering principles
  • Taking designs from initial concept and feasibility through design review, manufacture, assembly and commissioning
  • Developing BOMs and working closely with procurement, suppliers and manufacturing
  • Full ownership of your projects
What we're looking for
You’ll be a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys designing machinery and automated equipment and solving real-world engineering problems.

You’ll bring strong mechanical design capability, confidence working with complex assemblies and an understanding of how mechanical design integrates with electrical and automation systems.

Ideally, your experience will include designing machinery, production equipment, automation systems, special-purpose equipment or similar engineered solutions.

Most importantly, you understand that a good machine design needs to do more than look right in CAD. It needs to be safe, buildable, reliable, serviceable and perform as intended.

Why this role?
You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team, tackle varied technical challenges and see first-hand how your designs perform once they are manufactured, assembled and commissioned.

Success is about delivering practical, well-engineered automation equipment that works reliably in the real world.
