Are you the most reliable person you know?

The person who follows through, notices what others miss, and goes the extra mile because doing a great job for clients matters to you?

At GHA, we’re looking for someone who combines sound business thinking with exceptional organisation, accuracy and care. Someone our clients can rely on—and our team can count on.

Does this sound like you?

  • You’re reliable. You keep your promises, take ownership and follow things through to completion.

  • You’re flexible. You understand that client needs sometimes fall outside normal business hours, and you’re comfortable with occasional evening or weekend work and travel.

  • You have a sixth sense for what clients need. You look ahead, ask thoughtful questions and anticipate what needs doing before someone has to ask.

  • You have laser focus. You pride yourself on accuracy and attention to detail, whether you’re preparing advice, checking board papers or recording decisions at a hui.

  • You enjoy a challenge. You thrive in a highly productive, fast-paced environment alongside like-minded people who care about their clients and the quality of their mahi.

The opportunity

GHA is a chartered accountancy and management consulting firm with offices in Rotorua and Tauranga. We work with Māori trusts, incorporations, Treaty settlement entities, businesses and non-government organisations across the Central North Island and beyond.

Our purpose is to help Māori succeed. We do this through trusted relationships and high-quality advice that brings together kaupapa Māori and business knowledge.

Based in Rotorua, this role combines management consulting and board secretary services. You’ll work closely with clients, chairs, boards and senior managers to understand their priorities and help them move forward.

Your mahi will include:

  • Researching and analysing business issues, developing practical advice, and preparing reports, proposals, policies and presentations.

  • Supporting strategy, organisational development and other consulting projects.

  • Coordinating board meetings, subcommittee meetings and AGMs, including papers, logistics and travel.

  • Attending hui, taking accurate minutes and following up decisions and actions.

  • Managing client relationships with professionalism, discretion and care.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an excellent writer, a clear thinker and a confident communicator. You’ll know how to manage competing deadlines, handle confidential information and build relationships with people from different backgrounds.

We’re looking for strong analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside experience preparing complex reports and/or advanced financial modelling and spreadsheet analysis. Strong organisation and attention to detail are essential.

Knowledge of Māori organisations, the Māori economy, governance processes, te reo Māori and tikanga Māori would be valuable, as would a commitment to continuing to learn.

A degree in accounting, business, economics or a related field is preferred. New Zealand residency and a New Zealand driver’s licence are required.

Why GHA?

You’ll work on varied, meaningful assignments alongside colleagues who share knowledge, support each other and take pride in helping Māori organisations succeed. Manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and integrity guide how we work, and we value the balance between work and whānau.

This is a permanent, full-time position, normally working 8.30am–5pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional work outside those hours and travel to clients. Salary is negotiable according to experience and qualifications.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and a cover letter telling us what you would bring to GHA. Include an example of when you anticipated a client’s needs or went the extra mile to deliver an excellent result.
