Being part of Flock
At Flock, we believe gathering matters.
Through curated furniture hire, styling and thoughtful event planning, we create design-led spaces where people come together, from weddings and private celebrations to corporate and large-scale events across New Zealand.
Our approach is grounded in how an event feels to the people within it. Behind every gathering is careful planning, creative thinking and a team who genuinely care about the details. We think ahead, solve problems and roll up our sleeves when it matters, bringing every element together to create spaces that feel effortless, inviting and distinctly their own.
The role
We’re looking for an experienced Wedding & Event Planner to join our planning and styling team at Flock, taking the lead across our wedding bookings and becoming a trusted point of contact for our couples, venues and suppliers.
You’ll guide clients through the planning process from the first conversations through to event day, bringing structure and clarity to budgets, timelines, suppliers, logistics and the many moving parts behind the scenes.
While the role will have a strong focus on weddings, you’ll also work across new enquiries, proposals and other Flock events, supporting the wider team wherever your experience is needed.
From picking up existing plans and shaping new ones to making the final calls on the day, you’ll take ownership, anticipate what’s needed and give our clients confidence that every detail is in hand.
At its heart, this is project management with a considered eye, bringing together people, spaces, suppliers and details so every element comes together as intended, allowing our clients and their guests to simply be present in the moment.
This role is perfect for you if:
You take ownership.
You turn ideas into clear plans and keep decisions, deadlines and details moving.
You build relationships people trust.
You work closely with clients, venues, suppliers and the wider Flock team, communicating with clarity and care throughout.
You bring order to the details.
You’re confident managing budgets, timelines, floor plans and run sheets, keeping every moving part considered and on track.
You know how to turn an enquiry into a booking.
You listen well, ask the right questions, understand what a client needs and shape considered proposals that give them confidence to take the next step.
You’re comfortable behind the scenes and onsite.
From client meetings and site visits to set-up and event-day coordination, you’re happy moving between planning and delivery.
You think a few steps ahead.
You anticipate what’s needed, notice what others might miss and solve problems calmly before they become one.
Who we’re looking for
Ideally, you’ll bring 2+ years’ experience in wedding planning, event coordination or event management, with experience taking ownership of events and being a trusted point of contact for clients.
You’re highly organised, self-directed and a confident communicator with strong emotional intelligence. You understand the level of thought, care and planning that happens behind the scenes to make an experience feel effortless, and you know how to read a room, make sound decisions and stay calm when plans change.
You have an eye for detail, an appreciation for good design and a love of a well-organised system. And importantly, you’re happy to get stuck in. One day might mean a client meeting, refining a proposal or working through a budget. The next, you’re onsite in practical shoes, sleeves rolled up, moving furniture, helping bring every element together.
The details
Based at our Onehunga, Auckland HQ, this is a casual role shaped around the wedding season. Our busiest months fall between November and March, with a natural shift in pace through winter. We are willing to consider part time hours depending on your skillset and what you could bring to the team.
The events calendar will influence your hours, with weekend and occasional evening work part of the role. Confirmed bookings are planned well in advance, giving you visibility across the season and flexibility to plan around what’s ahead.
As Flock continues to grow, there’s opportunity for the role to grow with us. Whether your strengths lie in planning, sales or broader event management, there’s space to contribute ideas, build on what you do best and make the role your own.
Knowledge of Hawke’s Bay and its wedding industry would also be an advantage.
Sound like you?
We’d love to hear from you.
Send us your CV, a little about your experience and what draws you to Flock.
Along with your application, we’d love you to answer three questions:
1. Tell us about an event you’ve planned or delivered that you’re particularly proud of. What was your role, and what made it successful?
2. It’s the morning of an outdoor wedding and the weather has other ideas.
How would you approach the decision-making and manage the change with the couple, suppliers and wider team?
3. And the important one: what’s something you have great taste in?
