Are you an experienced tyre professional who enjoys being hands-on, knows how to keep a busy workshop running smoothly, and is ready to take the next step in your career?
Someone who can organise the work, support the team, solve problems as they arise and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in?
At SuperTyre, we're looking for a Workshop & Warehouse Foreman to help lead the day-to-day operations of our Christchurch branch.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves the practical side of the tyre industry but also enjoys taking responsibility, helping others and making sure things get done properly.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days sitting behind a desk. You'll be right there in the thick of it, working alongside the team, keeping things moving and leading by example.
No two days are the same, and that's exactly what makes this role interesting!
A bit about us
At SuperTyre, we're not your average tyre business. We're a growing, forward-thinking company with a clear vision – to become New Zealand's most sought-after tyre solutions business.
Our people are at the heart of what we do. We believe in building great teams, delivering exceptional service, finding better ways of doing things, and creating an environment where people enjoy coming to work.
Our values are simple: We Find Ways. We Build Trust. We Keep Safe.
The opportunity
Reporting to our Christchurch Branch Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping our workshop, warehouse of tyres and day-to-day service operations running smoothly.
You'll provide practical day-to-day leadership and direction to our workshop-based technician, support the wider team and make sure our customers receive the great service they expect from SuperTyre.
Around 60% of your role will be hands-on, including managing forecourt sales, fitting and servicing retail and commercial tyres, and getting involved wherever the work needs to be done. You will be our main wheel alignment resource in the workshop, so being prepared to be hands on as its required is critical to this role.
The remaining time will be focused on coordinating work, managing stock and warehouse activities and ensuring our operation runs safely and efficiently.
You'll be someone who can see what needs doing, gets on with it and encourages others to do the same.
What will you be doing?
Getting hands-on with tyre work – completing retail and commercial tyre fitting, servicing, repairs and replacements, and helping the team get jobs out the door.
Wheel alignment tasks – as required in the workshop.
Running the workshop and forecourt – keeping work flowing, managing customer enquiries and sales, and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Keeping the warehouse organised – overseeing tyre stock, ordering, stocktakes, deliveries and ensuring the warehouse and yard are safe, tidy and well managed.
Looking after our customers – building great relationships, responding to customer needs and making sure we deliver on our promises.
Keeping things running smoothly – making sure tools, equipment, vehicles and resources are maintained, available and ready for use.
Finding better ways of doing things – identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste and make everyone's job a little easier.
Keeping everyone safe – setting the standard for safe working practices and ensuring quality and safety are never compromised.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you'll bring:
Solid tyre industry experience is essential. You must be confident and competent in retail and commercial tyre fitting and servicing, and comfortable getting straight into the practical work.
Experience in a busy tyre workshop or service environment, with a good understanding of how to keep jobs and people moving.
Some previous experience leading, supervising or mentoring others would be great, but we're equally interested in an experienced tyre professional who is ready to step up.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
Good communication skills and a natural ability to work well with customers and teammates.
A practical, solutions-focused approach – you're someone who sees what needs doing and gets on with it.
An eye for detail when it comes to stock management, workshop presentation and getting things right.
A genuine commitment to safety, quality and doing things properly.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right attitude.
You'll need to be comfortable making decisions, taking ownership, pitching in wherever needed and keeping a cool head when things get hectic.
Why join SuperTyre?
We're ambitious about where we're heading, and we know that great people are what will get us there.
This is an opportunity to take the next step in your career without giving up the practical work you enjoy.
You'll have the chance to make a real difference to how our Christchurch workshop and warehouse operate, help develop the team and work alongside a Branch Manager who will support you to succeed.
We'll back you with the tools, equipment, systems and support you need to do a great job.
It's a role with plenty of variety, responsibility and the satisfaction of seeing the results of your hard work every day.
Sound like your kind of challenge?
If you're an experienced tyre professional who enjoys getting stuck in, takes pride in doing a great job and is ready to step up and help lead a team, we'd love to hear from you.
