Are you an experienced Truck Driver or Machine Operator looking for an opportunity to work in the civil and horizontal drilling industry?

At Waikato Drilling, we deliver civil construction and directional drilling projects across the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke’s Bay, and Manawatū regions. Due to continued growth, we are looking for motivated and reliable Truck Drivers and Machine Operators to join our Rotorua-based team.

These are hands-on roles suited to people who enjoy working outdoors, operating machinery, and being part of a hardworking crew delivering high-quality projects.

Available Roles

We are currently seeking:

  • Class 2, 4 & 5 Truck Drivers

  • Excavator Operators

  • Civil Machine Operators

  • Skilled Civil Labourers with machine operating experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate trucks, excavators, and civil construction machinery.

  • Transport plant, materials, and equipment to and from project sites.

  • Assist with excavation, drilling support, reinstatement, and general civil works.

  • Carry out daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance inspections.

  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and site requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and crew members to deliver projects efficiently and safely.

  • Maintain accurate records and report any incidents, faults, or hazards.

What We’re Looking For

The successful applicants will have:

  • Relevant NZ driver licences and/or WTR endorsements.

  • Experience operating civil construction machinery or heavy vehicles.

  • A strong commitment to health and safety.

  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

  • The ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

  • Flexibility to work away from home when required.

Experience within civil construction, utilities, drainage, or directional drilling would be advantageous but is not essential for all roles.
