Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and management accounts.
- Managing client relationships and responding to day-to-day accounting and tax queries.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis.
- Helping clients understand their financial results and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Managing assignments to meet deadlines and maintain quality.
- Working with colleagues to resolve technical accounting and tax matters.
- Supporting junior team members through guidance and feedback.
About you
You’re an experienced BAS professional who enjoys working with clients and taking ownership of your work. You combine sound technical knowledge with clear communication and a practical approach to solving problems.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Relevant BAS experience within a New Zealand accounting practice.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand accounting and tax requirements.
- A CA or CPA qualification, or be nearing completion.
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for business clients.
- Confidence using Xero and other accounting systems.
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and communicate effectively with clients.
- An interest in developing your advisory and leadership skills.
