Projects IQ is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a significant industrial development in Whanganui.
Commencing in January 2027, this is a two-year, locally based role offering the opportunity to take ownership of a large and technically complex project from detailed planning and procurement through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
You will provide visible project leadership, establish clear delivery controls, lead multidisciplinary teams, and maintain alignment between the client, designers, contractors, suppliers, operational stakeholders, and senior decision-makers.

- Project strategy, governance, execution planning, and delivery.
- Project Safety. From safety in design through to safe construction.
- Design coordination and constructability.
- Procurement, contracts, and major equipment packages.
- Civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process package interfaces.
- Construction planning, sequencing, and safe site execution.
- Budget, programme, risk, change, and quality management.
- Contractor and supplier performance.
- Commissioning, operational readiness and handover.
- Reporting to project sponsors and senior stakeholders.
About You
You are an experienced industrial project leader with a track record of delivering large, multidisciplinary capital projects in complex operating environments.

- At least 10 years' project management experience
- Proven delivery of major industrial, manufacturing, energy, process, or infrastructure projects
- Experience managing substantial project budgets, schedules, contracts, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Demonstrated leadership of contractors, consultants, technical specialists, and client teams
- Strong commercial judgment and experience managing scope, risk, change, and claims
- The confidence to communicate effectively from the construction site through to executive and governance level
- A relevant engineering, construction, or project-management qualification
