This one takes us a little outside our usual fashion world, and we couldn't be more excited about it. We're partnering with a proudly NZ-owned, large format lifestyle retailer that has built a loyal following online and is now bringing that energy in-store. With an ambitious national rollout underway, they're looking for a strong 2IC to help lead their Mt Wellington flagship and grow with the business.

Working alongside the Store Manager at the Mt Wellington flagship, you'll help lead a passionate team, keep the store running at its best and deliver a customer experience that sets the standard for future locations. This is an ideal next step for a retail leader from fashion or specialty retail who is ready to grow with a brand that's still writing its story.

What you will be doing:

• Supporting the Store Manager across all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing, inventory and store standards.

• Coaching the team on sales performance and helping deliver against store targets.

• Assisting with recruiting, training and developing team members, and modelling the brand's values every day.

• Leading by example on the shop floor and resolving customer enquiries with care.

• Overseeing visual merchandising and stock levels to keep the store looking its best.

• Helping manage budgets, wage spend and cost control.

• Building relationships with local businesses and community groups to grow the store's presence.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous retail leadership experience, ideally as an Assistant Manager, 2IC or Supervisor. Lifestyle, fashion and specialty retail backgrounds are all welcome.

• A proven ability to drive sales and lift team performance.

• A coaching-first leadership style and strong communication skills.

• Exceptional customer service and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Confidence with POS and retail management systems, Google Workspace and MS Office.

• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and varied shifts.
