About us: 

Vertu Equipment is the appointed New Zealand, Pacific and Victoria, AU dealer for SANY Global Construction Equipment. With an increasing Trans-Tasman presence Vertu Group has branches in Auckland, Tauranga, Christchurch and Melbourne Australia along with a network of authorised dealers nationally and in the Pacific Islands. 

Reporting into the Oceania AfterSales Manager we are looking for a Lead Technician / Service 2IC to join our Auckland team. This is a varied and challenging role and will have ultimate responsibility for our workshop and technicians with pre delivery, scheduled servicing, breakdowns and warranty repairs.

Main Functions of role:

  • Attend and carry out scheduled servicing and breakdowns on Earthmoving Equipment in the wider Auckland + surrounding areas where required.

  • Responsible for job allocation and job flow in accordance with After Sales Tasks/enquiry lists

  • Facilitate customer issues and suggest appropriate solutions. 

  • Designated point of escalation for technical matters requiring attention, ensuring problem resolution.

  • Identify appropriate courses of action for breakdowns and/or other issues.

  • Manage work in progress and ensure compliance of operational standards in consultation with the AfterSales Manager.

  • Oversee the quality of the service and repair standards.

  • Foster and mentor a strong company culture and grow other technical staffing capabilities.

  • Assist in main machine and parts sales, monitoring NZ revenue and growth

  • Liaise and assist the Aftersales Manager as and when required.


Our requirements:

  • Senior level mechanic (supervisor experience is advantageous).

  • Good overall knowledge with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components and systems.

  • Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in construction earthmoving equipment.

  • Autonomous self-starter who can get the job done without necessarily a clear path in front of them.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Display a positive and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Build rapport with clients and assist in growing the SANY brand in New Zealand.

  • Ability to work to and meet strict deadlines.

  • Able to work flexible hours when/as required to meet client expectations.
