Senior Project Manager - Mechanical/Piping Installation

Backed by our well-equipped workshop, our experienced team of mechanical fitters and fabricators provide fabrication and installation services for specialist processing plants and equipment across New Zealand.

Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Mechanical/Piping Installation Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience. This is a permanent role, based in our Hamilton workshop and reports to the Lead Project Manager.

As a proven Project Manager, you will use your passion for project delivery, customer focus and great interpersonal skills to effectively manage small through to large sized projects. You will be involved with a variety of industries in our growing organization throughout New Zealand and will need to be able to travel to other locations if needed.

Applicants must be extremely customer-focused with the ability to lead medium to large-sized projects. Competitive remuneration will be offered based on relevant skills and experience. You will also have excellent relationship management skills, be able to lead and drive a team, be commercially savvy, and have strong financial management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Manage several contracts simultaneously effectively and efficiently in Waikato and greater NZ.

·      Estimating/Quoting- medium to large contracts - main focus of this role

·         Price, Evaluate, Negotiate and execute contracts.

·         Supervise and manage staff on site ensuring they are working effectively towards project goals

·         Oversee and manage all Quality assurance (QA) documents related to projects 

·         Establish and maintain client relationships.

·         Manage record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation.

·         Provide contract-related issue resolution, both internally and externally.

·         Provide leadership to deliver contracts on time and within budget.

·         Detailing and procurement

·         Monitoring and reporting of contract variations.

·         Ensure H&S requirements are met inclusive of documentation

Qualifications:

To be suitable for this role, you will need the following experience:

·         A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a complex project’s environment.

·         Stainless steel sheet metal, Pipe and ASME knowledge of welding codes is essential.

·         Trade qualified background - Advantage

·         Engineering management experience - Advantage

·         Ability to complete 2D drawing – Advantage (AutoCAD)

·         Experienced Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Project software (MS projects)

·         Job Estimating experience

·         Proven organizational ability

·         Ability to work effectively as a team and autonomously
