About the role
We are seeking a versatile, motivated and customer-focused person to join our team in this varied hybrid role, combining paint and wallpaper sales and decorating advice with hands-on warehouse and stock management duties. You will work across our retail showroom and warehouse, helping customers choose the right products for their projects while ensuring stock is received, organised and ready for our customers and installation teams.
Key responsibilities
Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to retail and trade customers across our paint, wallpaper and decorating sundries range
Assist customers with product selection, colour coordination and practical decorating advice
Mix and tint paint accurately to meet customer requirements
Build positive relationships with trade customers and encourage repeat business
Process sales and payments using our point-of-sale system
Order products to meet specific customer requirements
Maintain attractive showroom displays, merchandising and general store presentation
Receive, unload and check incoming freight, verifying deliveries against packing slips and identifying any damage or discrepancies
Maintain accurate stock records and assist with inventory management and regular stocktakes
Pick and prepare the correct products, accessories and sundries for our installation teams
About you
Friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoys helping people
Customer-focused, with good communication and interpersonal skills
Experienced in retail sales, customer service or a similar role
Well organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities
Reliable, energetic and self-motivated, with a positive, can-do attitude
Comfortable taking initiative and working independently, while contributing to a supportive team
Confident using computers and point-of-sale systems
Interested in paint, wallpaper, colour and decorating, with a willingness to learn about our products
Physically capable of safely handling and moving stock weighing up to 20kg
A current forklift licence and relevant OSH certification would be an advantage
