About the role

Kelston Girls' College is seeking an organised, safety-conscious, and proactive Science Lab Manager to join our Science department.

In this role, you will be the technical expert and primary steward of safety across our laboratories and preparation areas. Working closely alongside the Head of Science and science teachers, you will prepare high-precision solutions, equipment, and biological materials for daily lessons and NCEA assessments. You will oversee chemical safety, manage inventory, ensure compliance with the Code of Practice for School Laboratories, and help create an inspiring, orderly environment where our young women can explore practical scientific inquiry and mātauranga pūtaiao safely.

We are looking for someone with strong laboratory systems knowledge, practical familiarity with hazardous substances (HSNO/Health and Safety at Work Act), and high organisational skill. A relational approach, warmth when engaging with ākonga, and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and sustainable resource stewardship are essential to the role.

This role is part time - 15 hours per week, term time only. Start date: Term 1 January 2027
