  • Operate and monitor the heart-lung machine during cardiac surgeries, ensuring safe and effective cardiopulmonary bypass.

  • Prepare, assemble, prime, and check perfusion circuits, oxygenators, and related equipment before surgery.

  • Monitor vital parameters, blood flow, oxygenation, temperature, and other physiological indicators throughout the procedure.

  • Coordinate with cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists to maintain appropriate perfusion and patient stability during surgery.

  • Monitor anticoagulation and other perfusion-related parameters as directed by the clinical team and established protocols.

  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of perfusion equipment, consumables, and emergency backup systems.

  • Maintain accurate records of perfusion parameters, equipment usage, and other relevant clinical details.

  • Follow infection control practices, biomedical waste management guidelines, and OT safety protocols.

  • Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, maintenance coordination, and troubleshooting of perfusion equipment.

  • Identify and promptly report any equipment malfunction, abnormal patient parameters, or potential complications to the concerned clinical team.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in emergency preparedness, drills, training programs, and quality improvement activities related to perfusion services.

  • Coordinate with OT staff, biomedical engineering, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth functioning of perfusion services.

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and demonstrate professional conduct while dealing with patients and colleagues.
