The Opportunity | Te Āheinga
Our client is a well-established New Zealand property finance business providing construction lending, residential development lending, bridging finance, investment property lending, and commercial property finance solutions to developers, investors, and property owners.
With more than 100 active construction loans under management and new funding opportunities entering the pipeline weekly, you'll be involved in a steady flow of project reviews, site visits, stakeholder conversations, and portfolio monitoring. Some projects will require a deeper level of assessment, while others will involve straightforward progress reviews and relationship management.
While the lending team focuses on the borrower, security position, and lending structure, your focus will be on the projects themselves. Drawing on your construction experience, you'll help the business understand how developments are tracking, where risks may exist, and whether project information aligns with what's happening on the ground.
You'll be responsible for:
It's highly unlikely you'll be in this exact role today. You may come from quantity surveying, estimating, construction management, development management, property development, consultancy, or a similar construction-related environment.
More important than your job title is your understanding of how projects are costed, staged, funded, and delivered. We're looking for someone who can assess project information, identify potential risks, challenge assumptions, and form a practical view on project viability.
This role is likely to appeal to someone who enjoys construction and development but wants broader exposure to the funding, feasibility, and commercial drivers behind successful projects.
You'll bring:
Most funded developments are Auckland-based, although there will be occasional travel within New Zealand to visit funded projects and meet with stakeholders. A current clean driver's licence, satisfactory credit check, and clear police check are required.
What's on Offer | Ngā Painga
You'll be joining a collaborative, down-to-earth team of experienced property and lending professionals who are passionate about the industry and genuinely enjoy working together. Despite its growth, the business has retained an approachable, entrepreneurial culture where practical thinking is valued, expertise is respected, and people are trusted to take ownership of their work.
