The Opportunity

Join an established Australian construction contractor delivering a major hyperscale data centre development in Western Sydney.

You'll take ownership of complex construction activities across structural, mechanical and electrical interfaces, with responsibility for programming, technical coordination and project delivery.

With a growing data centre division and strong project pipeline, this is an opportunity to take on greater leadership responsibility and progress towards Project Management.

About the Role

As Senior Project Engineer, you'll work closely with project leadership to coordinate construction activities, manage technical interfaces and ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

You'll also lead and mentor Project Engineers and Site Engineers, playing a key role in the successful delivery of a major data centre project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering and construction delivery across major data centre packages

  • Coordinate structural, mechanical and electrical interfaces

  • Manage construction programming, sequencing and critical-path activities

  • Oversee off-site prefabrication and integration into construction

  • Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and internal engineering teams

  • Manage design coordination, technical risks and quality assurance

  • Support procurement, commissioning and project handover

  • Lead and mentor junior engineers

Skills & Experience

  • 7-10+ years' experience in project engineering or construction delivery

  • Previous data centre construction experience essential

  • Experience across at least one full data centre project lifecycle

  • Strong understanding of structural and MEP interfaces

  • Experience with off-site prefabrication and construction sequencing

  • Strong programming and critical-path management skills

  • Proven subcontractor coordination and team leadership experience

  • Relevant Engineering or Construction Management qualifications
