We're looking for confident, capable Duty Managers to join our teams at Wigram and Sumner in Christchurch.

We have both part-time and casual opportunities available. When applying, let us know your preferred location, employment type, and whether you'd be open to working across both cinemas.

Please note weekend availability is essential for these roles.

You'll bring strong hospitality experience, a calm leadership style, and a genuine passion for delivering great service.

Your Role

You'll be responsible for shift leadership, team performance, guest experience, and day-to-day operational excellence.

Your day might include:

• Opening and closing the cinema

• Running the floor and leading your team

• Managing cash-ups, banking, and stock

• Monitoring team performance and presentation standards

• Responding to guest issues and feedback

• Handling event setups and hosting private bookings

• Ordering stock and managing wastage

• Supporting training and maintaining high service standards

What We're Looking For

You stay calm under pressure, lead by example, and care about the details.

You don't just get the job done, you do it properly.

Required:

• Prior experience in a Duty Manager or supervisory hospitality role

• LCQ (or willingness to obtain - we'll cover the cost with a commitment to the role)

• 2+ years of hospitality experience

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Confidence managing KPIs and shift reporting

• Experience with stocktaking and ordering

• Availability to work weekends

Desirable:

• Current General Manager's Certificate

• Familiarity with VISTA or similar POS systems
