Lead our New Zealand Commercial Insurance broking business

Astute is a leading financial services provider with an established track record of helping businesses grow by integrating finance, insurance and wealth solutions into their service offerings.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Insurance Broker with strong experience in civil contacting, plant and equipment, agriculture and forestry. This role will work closely with our members, providing trusted Insurance advice to their clients. 

Work of the Role:

·           Provide commercial insurance advice to clients

·           Prepare submissions and negotiate terms with the market

·           Support new business, renewals, endorsements and claims advocacy

·           Convert qualified commercial opportunities from internal channels

·           Support adherence to regulatory obligations, advice standards, file quality and internal processes

·           Assist with insurer relationships, placement strategy and market engagement

·           Support future team growth, including broker support and junior broking capability over time

What we’re looking for:

·           At least 5 years commercial insurance broking / trading experience in New Zealand

·           NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) - General Insurance

·           Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, insurer placement and broking obligations

·           Confidence dealing with clients, insurers, underwriters and internal stakeholders

·           Commercial judgement and the ability to balance client needs, insurer appetite and business priorities

·           A practical, solutions-focused approach

·           The ability to help build technical knowledge and good broking habits across a growing business
