Siso Restaurant & Bar is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and help take our food offering to the next level.

We're searching for someone who loves great food, thrives on leading a team, and is excited by the opportunity to put their own stamp on a growing hospitality business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have the freedom to be creative while being backed by strong operational support.

What makes this opportunity even more exciting is that you'll work alongside renowned New Zealand chef Gareth Stewart, who will provide ongoing support as Consultant Chef. Together, you'll collaborate on menu development, food philosophy, kitchen systems, and maintaining exceptional standards across the business.

What you'll be doing

• Leading and inspiring a talented kitchen team

• Creating and delivering seasonal, innovative menus

• Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency

• Managing food costs, stock control and kitchen labour

• Training, mentoring and developing your team

• Driving a positive kitchen culture that people genuinely enjoy being part of

• Ensuring food safety and compliance standards are always met

About you

You'll be an experienced Head Chef or a strong Senior Sous Chef ready for the next step.

You'll bring:

• A genuine passion for food and hospitality

• Proven leadership experience in busy restaurant environments

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Confidence managing costs, rosters and kitchen operations

• A collaborative approach and a positive attitude

• Creativity, commercial awareness and attention to detail
