The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Lead Business Intelligence Advisor to provide technical leadership, architectural guidance and delivery oversight across a large, nationally significant organisation.
Working alongside an established BI and Data team, you will help ensure solutions are designed consistently, follow enterprise standards and align with the organisation's broader data strategy.
This is a senior advisory role where your ability to influence, mentor and bring people along on the journey will be just as important as your technical expertise. You will work across multiple projects and delivery squads, providing guidance to developers, BI professionals and project managers while helping take some of the leadership workload off an established management team.
You won't have direct reports, but you will be expected to lead through influence, bring confidence to conversations and help drive better outcomes across the wider organisation.

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing technical leadership and oversight across multiple BI and data projects.
- Championing enterprise standards across Kimball methodology, dimensional modelling and data architecture.
- Reviewing solution designs and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and best practice.
- Guiding delivery teams, project managers and technical leads on solution design and data practices.
- Providing direction across data warehousing and modern data architectures, including Medallion (Bronze, Silver and Gold).
- Helping coordinate priorities and maintain consistency across multiple squads and projects.
- Mentoring BI professionals and uplifting capability across the wider team.
- Remaining technically credible and hands-on where required across Power BI, SQL and data solutions.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Strong experience across enterprise Business Intelligence and data environments.
- Excellent knowledge of dimensional modelling, particularly Kimball methodology. This is critical.
- A solid understanding of data warehousing, enterprise architecture and solution design.
- Experience providing technical leadership and oversight across multiple projects or delivery teams.
- Understanding of modern data architectures, including Medallion (Bronze, Silver and Gold) architecture.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with BI technologies such as Power BI.
- The ability to review technical designs, challenge approaches and drive consistent standards.
- Strong consulting, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring technical professionals and influencing teams without direct authority.
- Experience with Databricks and modern cloud data platforms.
- Experience within an enterprise BI practice or Centre of Excellence.
- Exposure to complex, multi-project environments.
