About the role
We are seeking a Hospitality All-Rounder to join the team at A social in the heart of Auckland CBD. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment where you'll be at the centre of creating memorable experiences for our guests. This role encompasses waiting, bar service, and general hospitality duties, making it perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting. We are open to considering visa support for the right candidate.
What you'll be doing
Providing excellent table service to guests, taking orders and delivering food and beverages with professionalism and attentiveness
Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process payments and manage transactions
Preparing and serving drinks at the bar, including cocktails, beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages to our exacting standards
Clearing and resetting tables promptly and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the venue
Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and ensuring they feel welcomed and valued throughout their visit
Taking special requests and dietary requirements and communicating these clearly to the kitchen and bar teams
Collaborating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods
Maintaining knowledge of menu items, specials, and beverage offerings to provide informed recommendations
Supporting the team with general hospitality duties including restocking supplies and maintaining work areas
Following all health, safety and food handling protocols to ensure guest and staff safety
What we're looking for
Prior experience working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, with at least some exposure to waiting or bar service
A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating positive guest experiences
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with diverse guests and team members
Physical stamina and the ability to work standing for extended periods during busy shifts
Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to meeting shift schedules consistently
A positive, flexible attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and busy service periods
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to support colleagues
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Familiarity with POS systems is desirable but training can be provided
Barista or bartending qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential
