The opportunity
Ready for a fresh challenge, more variety and a team you’ll enjoy working with?

With over 25 years of experience, this national planning practice is trusted for delivering smart, practical solutions across both public and private sectors—from large-scale growth strategies to complex consenting and policy work. Its projects are varied, high-impact and built on collaboration.

With offices across New Zealand, you’ll join a team large enough to offer breadth, yet close-knit enough to support your development—giving you the freedom to explore different planning disciplines and carve out your professional niche.

The Wellington office brings together a young, dynamic team in the heart of the city. You’ll work alongside experienced planners, share ideas and get involved in projects that help shape how communities grow.

The role
With existing staff relocating to another office within the practice, an opportunity has opened up for a Planner with 2–6 years’ experience to join the Wellington team. Your responsibilities will be tailored to your level, with room to stretch yourself as your confidence and capability grow.
Your work will include:
  • Preparing and managing resource consent applications, including Assessments of Environmental Effects.
  • Providing practical advice on site feasibility, development opportunities and due diligence.
  • Interpreting district and regional plans and relevant national policy.
  • Coordinating specialist inputs and working with councils through the consenting process.
  • Contributing to policy, spatial planning and growth strategy projects.
  • Building relationships with clients, councils and other stakeholders.
For those with more experience, there’s also scope to lead projects, contribute to proposals and support junior planners.

About you
You’ll bring a qualification in planning or a closely related field, alongside 2–6 years’ relevant experience and a sound understanding of New Zealand’s resource management framework.

You’ll be curious, proactive and keen to get involved. Clear communication, good organisation and practical thinking will help you succeed, as will enjoying the give-and-take of working in a collaborative team.

If you’re ready to broaden your experience, build your client relationships and take the next step in your planning career, we’d love to hear from you.
