Your opportunity to join our team:
Join the team as a Control Systems Engineer and play a key role in shaping the automation and control systems that support one of our major manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on technical role with real ownership. You’ll design, develop and optimise control systems across PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial networks, while working closely with our Maintenance, Engineering and Operations teams to improve reliability, performance and efficiency across the site.
You’ll be involved across the full lifecycle of our control systems, from design and programming through to commissioning, troubleshooting and continuous improvement. If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with modern automation technology and seeing the impact of your work directly on plant performance, this is an opportunity to make your mark.
What you’ll do:
- Design, develop and maintain PLC, SCADA and HMI control systems across multiple platforms, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens
- Program and configure control systems using ladder logic, structured text and other automation software
- Manage and support our operational technology network infrastructure and industrial communication protocols
- Troubleshoot complex control system, network and connectivity issues to minimise downtime and improve reliability
- Lead and support control system upgrades, integrations and automation projects from concept through to commissioning
- Develop SCADA/HMI interfaces and integrate systems with plant equipment and operational platforms
- Work with Maintenance, Engineering and Operations teams to identify opportunities to improve plant performance
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning activities
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical documentation and control procedures
- Use production and control-system data to identify trends, improve performance and support continuous improvement
- Provide technical guidance and training to our electrical and maintenance teams
- Ensure control systems meet relevant cybersecurity, safety and compliance requirements
What you’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related discipline
- 3–5+ years’ experience designing, programming and commissioning control systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong hands-on experience with industrial PLC platforms, ideally Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens
- Experience with SCADA and HMI systems, with FactoryTalk or equivalent experience highly regarded
- Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus or DeviceNet
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability across control systems and industrial networks
- Experience with control-system integration and network architecture
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs and control-system documentation
- A practical problem-solving mindset and the ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and external suppliers
- Experience within food manufacturing or processing would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
What we’ll offer you:
- Access to Fitness Passport that gives you affordable access to gyms, pools and fitness facilities nationwide
- Employee benefits including product discounts and travel discounts
- Genuine opportunities to develop your career, supported by our performance and succession programs.
- The health, safety, and wellbeing of our people is our highest priority
- ASX-listed company with operations across Australia and New Zealand
