Part-Time Dentist – Queenstown

Queenstown Dentist | 1 day per week, with potential to increase to 2

Beautiful views, busy books and a great team to work with!

We're looking for a friendly, experienced dentist to join our lovely, independently run practice in the heart of Queenstown.

We're a small, close-knit team who take pride in providing quality, patient-centred dentistry in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We work hard, support one another and enjoy a good laugh along the way!

If you're looking for a busy practice where you can enjoy clinical independence, feel supported and genuinely enjoy coming to work, we'd love to hear from you.

Why you'll love working with us

  • A beautiful place to work – Our bright, spacious surgery has large windows overlooking the lake and mountains, with skylights bringing plenty of natural light into our warm, welcoming practice.

  • Busy books and a steady patient flow – We're an established, busy practice, currently booked around four weeks ahead, with a great mix of loyal local patients and a consistent flow of new patients.

  • Modern equipment – Well-equipped surgery with digital dentistry, including an intraoral scanner.

  • A fantastic little team – You'll have a dedicated dental assistant and the support of our friendly, experienced team.

  • Clinical independence – We value your professional judgement and encourage you to practise dentistry in a way that puts your patients first, with support and collaboration when needed.

  • Room to bring your own strengths – We welcome dentists with different clinical interests and are open to expanding our services where appropriate.

  • A great location – Right in the centre of Queenstown, surrounded by cafés, shops and the lakefront. A lovely spot to spend your working day!

About the role

We're offering one regular, prearranged day per week initially, with the opportunity to increase to two days if it's a good fit for both you and the practice.

Our day-to-day dentistry includes general and restorative care, crown and bridge work, root canal treatments, and simple and surgical extractions. More complex cases are referred to specialists when appropriate.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable providing a broad range of general dental treatments, while recognising that every dentist has their own strengths, interests and areas of expertise. We don't expect you to do everything!

Remuneration is 40% commission, less laboratory fees. You'll be joining a busy, established practice with an existing patient base and excellent earning potential.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 2 years of clinical experience.

  • Is confident working independently and managing their own patients.

  • Has good general restorative skills and sound clinical judgement.

  • Is friendly, approachable and communicates well with patients.

  • Enjoys being part of a small, supportive team and brings a positive attitude to work.

  • Holds a current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

  • Has the legal right to work in New Zealand.
