About the Role
Are you an organized, detail-oriented, and confident training staff on the production line? Join our team at Freshco and play a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of our day or night shift!
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Shift Manager for a maternity cover, fixed term position from February to August 2027. This is an excellent opportunity to support our Packhouse Manager and help lead our team through the busy apple packing season.
The role is available on either of the following shifts:
Dayshift: Monday to Saturday, 6.00 am to 3.30pm
Nightshift: Sunday to Friday, 4.00 pm to 1.30am
You will be reporting directly to the Packhouse Manager, and you will provide essential administrative and operational support to ensure shifts run efficiently and effectively. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates confidently and can lead by example in a fast-paced, seasonal production environment.
Your responsibilities are:
Managing daily administrative tasks and maintaining accurate documentation.
Monitoring staff attendance and absenteeism in liaison with the HR Team.
Supporting compliance with company policies and procedures and operational requirements.
Coordinating and delivering on-the-job training for production line staff.
Identifying staff who require additional training, guidance or support.
Assisting the Packhouse Manager with the day-to-day operational requirements.
This role is a hands-on-role that combines administration, communication and staff training in a fast-paced packhouse environment.
Skills and Experience:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or working environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to train, guide and support staff.
Computer literacy.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
A proactive approach, with the ability to identify issues and follow them through.
The ability to work effectively in a busy, seasonal operation.
