Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and hands-on Paving Division - 2IC to join our busy Christchurch based team. This full-time role is responsible for overseeing the efficient production of high-quality concrete paving products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.
The wider Urban Paving Group incorporates three distinct business units, employing over 25 staff.
Urban Paving and Landscaping Supplies, which offers a wide range of concrete, natural stone and outdoor porcelain pavers and landscaping supplies from our Christchurch location.
Urban Civil, our Roading division manufactures a range of civil and roading concrete products.
Smart Troughs, our Rural division manufactures a range of Troughs and rural concrete products.
Key Responsibilities:
Work as an active member of the factory team to produce high-quality concrete paving products
In the absence of the Paving Manager, overall responsibility for the scheduling, production, procurement, quality assurance, health & safety and reporting within in the Paving area.
Assisting with the management of the day-to-day HR functions within the Paving area.
Assisting with the management of the Maintenance and Repair of all plant and equipment within the Paving area.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
The strength and fitness to be hands-on in Paving manufacture
Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment (concrete or construction materials experience desirable)
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
A proactive, safety-first mindset
Good organisational and record-keeping abilities
The ability to work collaboratively across teams
An eye for Continuous Improvement
