Looking for a stable full-time role where you can stay active, meet people and be part of a great team?
We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our ESS team at Waiouru Military Camp. This is a permanent full-time position with 40 guaranteed hours every week, where you will help prepare and serve meals, make great coffee and create a welcoming dining experience for NZ Defence Force personnel.
Previous catering experience is great, but a positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important. Full training will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing, presenting and serving fresh, quality food
- Set up dining and service areas ready for meal periods
- Provide friendly and efficient service to customers
- Prepare quality coffee and assist with front-of-house service
- Process customer transactions and handle payments accurately
- Keep dining, service and work areas clean, hygienic and well presented
He kōrero mōu / About you:
- Previous catering, hospitality or customer service experience is preferred
- Barista or front-of-house experience would be an advantage
- A friendly, approachable personality with a positive can-do attitude
- Good communication skills and a genuine focus on customer service
- Ability to stay organised and work well in a busy environment
- A reliable team player committed to food safety, hygiene and quality
