Cogswell Surveys is a well-established Cambridge-based land development consultancy providing surveying, planning and engineering services across the Waikato.

With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a Survey Technician, Junior Surveyor or Graduate Surveyor to join our friendly and professional team.

We’re open to candidates at all levels — from those just starting out through to experienced surveyors. For the right person, we’re flexible on both role scope and remuneration.

This role offers a mix of field and office work across a range of land development projects, from small infill developments, larger subdivisions and plenty of rural work. This is a hands-on role with variety across both field work and office-based support.

Field work will include:

• Topographical surveys

• Cadastral surveys

• Construction set out

• As-builts

• Building set outs

Office responsibilities will include survey data processing, calculations, and supporting the delivery of accurate and timely project outcomes. The role will also involve equipment management and maintenance.

You will be involved in a broad range of land development work and will work alongside an experienced team committed to delivering practical, high-quality outcomes for clients.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Relevant New Zealand experience essential

• A Tertiary qualification or relevant experience

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, 12d & 12d Synergy or similar software

• Strong communication skills

• A current, clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence

• Experience driving 4WD utility vehicles

• Familiarity with Topcon GNSS & Leica Robotic Total Stations

• Drone experience
