About the role
Mt Atkinson Coffee is looking for a full-time Kitchen crew member to join us in New Lynn. You'll be the person behind our bagel menu and cabinet baking, making fresh food that keeps our regulars coming back. Key responsibilities
Preparing our bagels and baked goods fresh each day
Building and prepping the bagel menu, keeping quality and presentation consistent
Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards
Managing prep lists and stock levels with minimal waste
Working closely with the front-of-house team so the cabinet and menu are always stocked
Contributing ideas for new menu items and seasonal specials
Contributing to the productivity and good vibes of our coffee shop
About you
Experience in a café kitchen, bakery, or similar food-focused environment
A grounded, positive person who stays calm and organised when it gets busy
A real eye for detail, with consistency and quality in everything you make
The attitude to just get stuck in and help the team wherever it's needed
Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene
Care about people, quality, and meaningful work

Mt Atkinson Coffee is part of something bigger. We buy our beans directly from small coffee farmers in Uganda, with no middlemen, ensuring high quality and fair compensation. Part of our profits go back to these communities, so everything we make plays a small part in a bigger story. Locally, we support the West Auckland community, and our shop offers freshly roasted beans, bagels, cabinet food, coffee gear, and locally made goods, all crafted and curated on-site.
