Registered Professional | Whakatāne

Ko Te Whānau Te Rito | Family is Central

At Waiariki Whānau Mentoring, we walk alongside whānau to strengthen wellbeing, build resilience, and create lasting positive change. As a Māori-owned and operated hauora organisation with a charitable purpose, we are committed to empowering whānau through manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and strengths-based practice.

We are proudly embedded within the communities we serve and are known as "circuit breakers" for whānau facing complex challenges. Our approach extends beyond traditional service models, working alongside whānau in ways that are practical, culturally grounded, and person-centred.

We don't simply provide services. We build relationships. We listen without judgement. We advocate fiercely. We stand alongside whānau in their journey toward wellbeing, independence, and self-determination.

We are seeking an impassioned Registered Professional to join our team based in Whakatāne.

This role offers the opportunity to work within Waiariki Whānau Mentoring Whakatāne locations, providing intensive, strengths-based support to whānau experiencing a range of social, cultural, and wellbeing challenges.

You will work alongside our skilled mentoring and peer support teams to deliver holistic wraparound support that empowers whānau to achieve their goals, strengthen their foundations, and create sustainable change.

Every day is different. Every whānau is unique. Every success matters.

About the Role

  • Provide culturally responsive support to whānau.

  • Build trusted relationships that inspire positive change.

  • Complete clinical and cultural assessments and interventions.

  • Work collaboratively with mentors, peer support kaimahi, and community partners.

About You

  • Current registration with SWRB, DAPANZ or another relevant professional body.

  • Experience supporting individuals and whānau facing complex challenges.

  • Strong communication, assessment, and whakawhanaungatanga skills.

  • Passion for whānau wellbeing and community impact.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a job. It's an opportunity to be part of a kaupapa-driven organisation where relationships matter, whānau is central, and your work creates real impact in our communities.

Nau mai, haere mai. Join the whānau that helps whānau thrive.
