Senior Structural Engineer
About the role
Solution Structural & Civil Engineers is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a growing consulting firm known for delivering high-quality, efficient and cost-effective engineering solutions during both design and construction stages. You will contribute to the team's development and make a real impact on the growing business.
Key responsibilities
Provide design and calculations for new builds or alterations/additions to residential houses, duplexes and childcare centres including piling, footings, slabs on ground, suspended slabs, steel framing, timber floor framing, timber roof framing and bracing using Structural Toolkit, Space GASS and INDUCTA SLB
Provide design, calculations and detailing for commercial shop fitout
Provide structural markups/concepts via Bluebeam for client coordination and the drafting team
Review drawings from the drafting team and provide comments and guidance
Attend site inspections including pre-design site assessment and sign-offs during construction
Coordinate with clients, architects, builders and other consultants on information collection, concepts, detailing and design changes/variations via email, phone and online/site meetings
Manage project programmes from start to finish via company-provided workflow software to meet deadlines
Provide design and calculations for new-built class 2 buildings including shoring, piling, footings, suspended slabs, transfer slabs, beams, columns and walls using INDUCTA RCB & SLB and Space GASS (preferred but not necessary)
About you
Bachelor's Degree in either Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of Australian experience in structural engineering
Proficient in relevant engineering software packages, Structural Toolkit and Bluebeam are ESSENTIAL
Experience with INDUCTA, Space GASS, AutoCAD and REVIT is advantageous
Knowledge and understanding of Australian design codes, standards and regulations relating to loading, concrete structures, steel structures, masonry structures, timber structures, footings etc (i.e. AS1170, AS4100, AS3600, AS3700, AS1684, AS2870, AS1720, AS4055)
Able to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
