About the role

We are seeking a Store Person with Mechanical Attributes to join the NZ Labour Hire Group team in a potential full-time capacity. This role is based in Bell Block, Taranaki, and offers an exciting opportunity to work in the warehousing, storage, and distribution sector. As a Store Person with Mechanical Attributes, you will play a vital role in repairs and servicing commercial and industrial piping and hoses, combining practical warehouse management skills with mechanical knowledge to ensure our operations run efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, check, and process in/out going's of stock into the warehouse management system

• Maintain warehouse organisation, ensuring stock is stored correctly and safely in designated locations

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns

• Support the operation and maintenance of mechanical handling equipment to minimise downtime

• Undertake stock audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy

• Adhere to all health and safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment

• Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including cleaning and organisation

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a warehouse, storage or distribution environment

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair

• Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (current certifications advantageous)

• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with team members

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks regularly

• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work and able to pass a drug testing procedure

• Willingness to learn and develop your skills in both warehouse operations and mechanical maintenance
