Build strong business partnerships. Grow regional success. Help fund Kiwi communities.

At The Lion Foundation, our success is built on strong relationships with hospitality venues throughout New Zealand. These relationships help generate funding for sports clubs, community groups, charities and local initiatives across the country. As Account Manager - Southern Region, you'll play an important role in growing our presence across Otago and Southland.

We're looking for an experienced commercial professional to join our Southern team and manage an established portfolio of hospitality venues while identifying opportunities for growth across the region. This is an autonomous role where you'll combine account management, business development and commercial thinking to deliver positive outcomes for venue operators, the communities we support and The Lion Foundation.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing and strengthening relationships with an established portfolio of venue partners

  • Identify and develop new venue opportunities across the Southern region (Dunedin to Bluff and Waimate)

  • Becoming a trusted advisor to venue operators and understanding their business goals

  • Identifying opportunities to improve venue performance and mutual commercial outcomes

  • Working closely with venue operators, suppliers and internal teams to deliver exceptional service

  • Using data, insights and market intelligence to support business growth

  • Ensuring all activities are conducted in line with compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Representing The Lion Foundation professionally within the hospitality sector and wider community

About you

You'll be someone who enjoys building strong relationships, spotting opportunities and working independently in a commercially focused environment.

You'll bring:

  • Established hospitality sector networks and the ability to build trusted relationships with venue owners, operators and industry stakeholders across the Southern region

  • Experience in account management, relationship management, business development or sales, with a proven track record of building and growing successful client relationships

  • Strong commercial acumen and business insight

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills

  • A proactive approach and the confidence to identify and pursue opportunities

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • High levels of professionalism, integrity and personal accountability

Experience within hospitality, Class 4 gaming, FMCG, liquor, accommodation, tourism, or another relationship-driven industry would be highly regarded.

Why join The Lion Foundation?

At The Lion Foundation, you'll be part of an organisation that delivers positive outcomes for communities throughout New Zealand.

In return, we offer:

  • A well-established and respected organisation

  • The opportunity to manage a regional portfolio

  • A highly autonomous role with variety and responsibility

  • Genuine opportunity to make a difference in communities across New Zealand

  • Supportive team culture and strong organisational values

  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities

  • An attractive remuneration package including a company vehicle, insurance benefits and other employee benefits
