About the role
HostAway is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join a small team of two other experienced sys admins and a level 1 support technician. You'll support customers and improve infrastructure and services, working across client support, maintenance, and development/project work. A high level of service is required, so you'll need to care about providing an amazing customer experience.
Key responsibilities
Development of new infrastructure and creation of new features for existing services (e.g. build a new virtual server host, automate VS provisioning, add tools to our control panel)
Identification, troubleshooting and documentation of technical problems
End-user technical support, including answering customer calls
Scheduled maintenance
Network management and support
About you
Advanced LAMP stack administration experience, preferably Debian / Ubuntu / AlmaLinux
Proven troubleshooting ability for mail servers (Qmail/Postfix/Dovecot)
Experience with Microsoft Windows 2016/2019/2022 Server, IIS and MS-SQL
Understanding of cluster concepts; LVS experience (Corosync/Keepalive, Heartbeat) is desirable
Programming skills including HTML and PHP; Perl or more modern languages and frameworks useful
Virtualisation experience with Linux KVM, ProxMox, VMware or Xen
Experience with config management platforms (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc)
Understanding of networks; Cisco, Juniper or Arista experience is desirable, as is knowledge of BGP
Experience installing rack mounted servers or knowledge of hardware
Excellent communicator who remains calm under pressure
Motivated to improve things and work as a team player
