About JustFund

Recent winner of Fintech Australia’s Finnies Award 2025 for “Excellence in Consumer Lending” and recognised in AFR’s Top 5 Fast Starters, JustFund is a mission-led social lender, providing flexible funding to help people access quality legal representation.

JustFund is transforming New Zealand’s personal legal services market with innovative lending solutions that fundamentally change the experience and outcomes for individuals and family law firms.  Our offering provides legal funding to individuals who are going through the complex, stressful, and financially challenging process of relationship separation so they can pay their legal fees.

Since launching in New Zealand in May 2025, we’ve already supported over 150 New Zealanders, and formed partnerships with over 130 leading family law firms across the country. And we’re now excited to be launching estate funding.

We’ve already made a meaningful difference—but we’re only scratching the surface of what’s possible. Join us at this critical early stage as we build a seamless and life-changing legal finance platform for our clients and law firm partners.

If you're passionate about purpose, driven by impact, and excited to solve real-world problems through innovation, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

The In-House Wills & Estates Lawyer (Client Engagement Manager) will be a new role, the first of its kind within New Zealand to specialise within estates litigation and administration. It will be responsible for helping develop and grow the new business line, to help manage the client and law firm application experience, and to assess applications to determine whether they are eligible for funding. This role is critical to JustFund’s growth.

For an organisation that puts clients and law firms at the centre of all we do, this role of Client Engagement Manager is critical.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising your estates litigation and administration skills to assess applications from executors and law firms to ensure the estate is solvent and has the resources to clear its debts and distribute to the beneficiaries under the Will;

  • Helping build and refine our credit policy, lending criteria and applications journey so that it is relevant within the estates market nationally;

  • Identifying risks in relation to applications for funding, and create ways to help mitigate those risks;

  • Developing and maintaining deep relationships with law firm partners to ensure their experience is positive, and that we are as responsive and supportive as possible;

  • Embracing our culture and living our service values to deliver an outstanding experience for each and every client and law firm partner;

  • Serving as an amazing, empathetic and ongoing point of contact for our clients;

  • Analysing the outcome of funded cases to improve and refine JustFund’s credit assessment processes;

  • Being willing to help out with the highest impact projects each week because we’re a fast growing fintech and that’s what it’s all about.

Office-First Culture

While we understand that location is important, our company culture is even more important.  We have a strong preference for the successful candidate to be present in our Auckland CBD office.  We want the right candidate to be a part of the collaborating, brainstorming, serendipity and laughs that occur each and every day.  Preference will be given to individuals who can add most positively to, and are aligned with, our culture. A willingness to be present for as many days as possible each week is a distinct advantage. Extraordinary remote workers may be assessed by exception.
