Find the idea in a behaviour change brief, then make it work where people actually are. You’ll lead strategy on government, health and community campaigns and set the standard for every piece of social work we put out.
Wellington or Tauranga Moana
More of our mahi changes behaviour on social every year. So, we’re creating a role that owns both the thinking and the channels.
A lot of our work is government and behaviour change campaigns. Biosecurity, public health, family and community wellbeing. Strategy and social are often sectioned off into separate roles, with the risk of neither authentically combining. We don’t work like that. And that’s not what we’re looking for. Social is the backbone of true behaviour change, so we we’re looking for someone just as comfortable with behaviour change strategy as they are with social media strategy.
You’ll take a behaviour change brief and find the idea. A reverse brief that adds thinking rather than repeating the client back. An insight that names an enemy. Proof designed in before launch, so when the result lands we know the campaign caused it. Then you’ll make that idea work where people actually are. The right channel with a real job to do. Organic and paid planned together. Content made for the room, not copied across it. The strategy isn’t finished until it’s live and measured.
You’ll set the standard for the social work we put out and coach the people making it. You’ll run our own channels. And when a client asks for social and social is the wrong tool, you’ll say so.
We’re Hemisphere, a proudly Aotearoa-owned, Tiriti-dynamic agency. You’ll bring a strong grounding in te ao Māori, or a visible commitment to building one, and the humility to work alongside our Pae Ārahi rather than around him. He’s in the room at the start of every brief, not at the end as a check.
Show us how your thinking has changed how people behave. A campaign, a programme, a community you’re part of. Tell us what you actually did, what shifted, and how you know.
You’ve probably spent five years or more in an agency or in-house, with strategy on your CV and social running through it. Social marketing or behaviour change work for government, health or NGO clients is the sweet spot. If your path looks different, tell us why your mahi still stacks up.
What will you get here at Hemisphere? A seat in agency strategy from day one. A direct line to the Kaiarataki. A media, creative and client service team that plans together rather than passing work down a line. And the chance to shape how a Tiriti-dynamic agency does social.
This is a permanent role based in our Wellington tari or in Tauranga Moana. Both offices matter to us equally, so tell us which is home.
Send your CV and a cover letter that gives us a feel for how you think. Pick one piece of work you’re proud of. Tell us what the insight was, and what it looked like in the feed.
About Hemisphere
Our work is grounded in a Tiriti-dynamic approach, so a creative who already brings te ao Māori and kaupapa Māori experience will feel right at home here.
Great ideas come from diverse teams and real collaboration. We're building a place where different perspectives, experiences and worldviews are valued — where people support each other, challenge each other, and care about the work.
Our values guide everything we make
Whakapuāwai (growth) — we flourish as individuals, a collective and a community
Auahatanga (creativity) — we dream, express and achieve in everything we do
Whanaungatanga (connection) — we learn, understand and complement each other to deliver together
Manaakitanga (respect) — we give and receive support, generosity and kindness
Whakaihiihi (passion) — we bring enthusiasm and the drive to be the best we can be
The work we do — and don’t
We don’t sell alcohol, we don’t promote gambling, and we don’t market fast food. We simply don’t do that. Our creativity goes towards work that helps people and communities. If that’s the kind of work you want your name on, we’ll get along.
Keen to see the Hemisphere difference? We'd love to help.
