Temporary Assistant Accountant

£17. 00 - £20. 00 per hour
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary basis in Winchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional who is available at short notice and looking to support a busy and well-established business.
This role is full-time (0830-1700), office-based, working 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register
Managing weekly payment runs
Assisting with general accounting and finance administration duties
Supporting the wider finance team with month-end activities and reporting requirements
Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve account queries

Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, or possessing equivalent accounting qualifications and experience
Strong working knowledge of Sage 50
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational and time-management skills
Confident communicator with the ability to work independently
Experience of import/export processes would be highly advantageous, although not essential
