About the role
Merric is a New Zealand women’s fashion retailer, and we are excited to be opening at Richmond Mall.
We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused people to join our new store team:
1 x Full-Time Store Manager
2 x Part-Time Retail Assistants
Expected start date: Mid-November 2026
These positions are initially offered on a 6-month fixed-term basis, with the potential to develop into ongoing roles depending on business needs and individual performance.
This is a great opportunity to join a new store from the beginning and help us create a welcoming shopping experience for our Richmond customers.
Key responsibilities
Store Manager
Manage the day-to-day operations of the store
Lead, motivate and support the store team
Drive sales and work towards store targets
Deliver a high standard of customer service
Manage rostering, stock and replenishment
Maintain visual merchandising and store presentation standards
Support customers with styling, sizing and product selection
Build strong relationships with customers and the local community
Part-Time Retail Assistants
Provide friendly and attentive customer service
Assist customers with styling, sizing and product selection
Process sales accurately through the POS system
Replenish stock and maintain store presentation
Support visual merchandising
Work closely with the Store Manager and wider team
Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the store
About you
We would love to hear from you if you:
Have a genuine interest in fashion and customer service
Are friendly, confident and approachable
Are reliable, organised and enjoy working as part of a small team
Take pride in maintaining a well-presented store
Are comfortable working in a busy retail environment
Have flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends
For the Store Manager position, previous retail management or supervisory experience is preferred, with fashion retail experience being an advantage.
For the Part-Time Retail Assistant positions, previous retail experience is preferred, but a positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important.
Store trading hours
Monday – Saturday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Applicants should have flexibility to work within these trading hours, including weekends as required.
