NZ Structural Engineers – Ready for an Australian Move?

We’re recruiting an experienced Structural Engineer from New Zealand to join a well-established Australian engineering consultancy based in either Bathurst or Lithgow, NSW.
You’ll join a successful consultancy established more than 30 years ago, with 600+ active projects across Australia and a strong pipeline of residential, commercial and industrial structural work.

No Australian work visa sponsorship is available, so this opportunity is specifically suited to New Zealand citizens able to live and work in Australia.
The Role
You’ll work across a diverse structural portfolio including residential developments, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, manufacturing projects and complex steel, timber and concrete structures.
This is a hands-on consulting role where you’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle – from calculations and design through to client meetings and site inspections.
You’ll be responsible for:
Structural design across residential, commercial and industrial projects
Steel, timber and reinforced concrete design
Structural calculations and analysis
Producing and reviewing structural drawings
Site inspections and structural assessments
Working directly with clients
Managing your own portfolio of projects
Working closely with senior engineers and company leadership
Delivering practical, buildable engineering solutions
What We’re Looking For
Ideally you’ll have:
5+ years’ structural engineering experience
NZ consultancy experience
Residential, commercial and/or industrial structural design experience
Strong steel, timber and concrete design capability
AutoCAD experience
SpaceGass experience would be advantageous
Strong communication and client-facing skills
The ability to manage your own projects and workload
New Zealand citizenship
Australian Standards experience would obviously be useful, but we’re interested in speaking with strong NZ structural engineers who can transition their technical knowledge into the Australian environment.
