Salary: $25.00/Game

Schedule: Varies; (As needed for scheduled games)

Certifications/Licenses Required: Valid MA Class D Driver’s License, Certification in American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED, American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric CPR/ AED, American Red Cross Adult Pediatric First Aid, American Heart Association Basic First Aid, American Heart Association CPR/AED.

SUMMARY

The City of Chicopee’s Parks & Recreation is hiring a Recreation Gym Supervisor who is responsible for overseeing facilities in which recreation activities are taking place. This position supervises all Park & Recreation staff, participants, and spectators. Individuals are responsible for enforcing rules and regulations of the Chicopee Parks & Recreation activities to ensure a safe environment for all users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Supervises activities at various parks, schools, gymnasiums, pools, and other recreation sites and their surrounding areas to ensure safety and welfare of users.
• Enforces all rules, regulations, and policies. Serves as watchdog for prevention of vandalism, trespassers, or behavior inappropriate with the use of a school, City facility, or other facility utilized by the Chicopee Parks & Recreation Department.
• Ensures the cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
• Immediately reports broken equipment, safety issues, accidents and / or injuries, and submits appropriate paperwork.
• Notify the Parks & Recreation Department staff about equipment and supplies when needed.
• May assist other staff. Answers inquiries from program participants and provides proper information.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all situations especially when others are becoming agitated.
• Any additional tasks and / or duties as deemed necessary and assigned by the Parks & Recreation Department staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). - Required
• Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License. - Required
• Certification in American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED, American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric CPR/AED, American Red Cross Adult Pediatric First Aid, American Heart Association Basic First Aid, American Heart Association CPR/AED. – Required
• Must be at least 21 years of age. - Required
• College Degree. – Preferred
• One (1) year of prior experience. - Preferred
