People Plus are excited to be partnering with WET – Wood Engineering Technology Limited on the recruitment of Assistant Process Technicians for their cutting-edge Gisborne operation.

This is not your standard manufacturing role.

WET are doing genuinely exciting things right here in Tairāwhiti — combining advanced engineering, automation, robotics and world-first timber technology to create innovative engineered wood products with global potential. The growth opportunity here is massive, and this is a chance to get in early with a company that is building for the future.

If you enjoy technology, problem solving, machinery, continuous improvement and being part of a team that is breaking new ground, keep reading.

The opportunity:
As an Assistant Process Technician, you’ll be part of a team helping operate and optimise a highly automated manufacturing plant. This includes monitoring production, troubleshooting equipment, supporting maintenance, carrying out quality checks and helping improve systems and processes over time.

The plant will eventually operate 24/7, so you will need to be comfortable working shifts as the operation grows.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working within industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical or automation environments

  • Strong practical thinking and a willingness to learn

  • Good IT and communication skills

  • A proactive attitude and ability to work well within a team

  • Someone who enjoys getting stuck in and helping build something special

Experience with automation, controls, robotics, fitting, maintenance or manufacturing systems would be highly regarded — but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important.

What’s on offer?

  • Opportunity to work with world-leading technology

  • Genuine long-term career growth and development

  • Exposure to advanced automation and manufacturing systems

  • A company with serious vision and momentum

  • The chance to help shape the future of manufacturing in Gisborne

This is an exciting time to join WET as they continue building something pretty special in our region.
