  • Member engagement: Share member stories, industry news, programme updates and Association activities to strengthen connections with HFNZ members and the wider dairy industry.

  • Marketing and promotion: Support the promotion of HFNZ services, events, youth development programmes, sponsorships and other initiatives.

  • Communication planning: Help coordinate the HFNZ communications calendar, ensuring consistent messaging and a proactive approach to member and industry communications.

  • Administrative support: Undertake a small range of administrative duties, including responding to member enquiries, maintaining records and databases, and general office coordination as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who understands the New Zealand dairy industry and can communicate confidently with dairy farmers, breeders, industry organisations and other stakeholders. You will be a proactive and organised individual who enjoys working with people, has an eye for detail and can turn information into clear, engaging content for different audiences.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Sound knowledge of the New Zealand dairy industry and an understanding of the dairy farming sector.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging and professional content.

  • Experience or a strong interest in digital communications, social media, content creation and marketing.

  • Confidence using digital platforms, with experience in website management and podcast production an advantage.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems and tools.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • A friendly, approachable manner and a commitment to providing excellent service to HFNZ members.

  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the initiative to work independently and contribute positively to a small team.

  • Practical experience in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field would be advantageous.

What We Offer

This is an opportunity to join a small, dedicated team and play an important role in communicating the work of HFNZ to its members and the wider dairy industry.

You will have the opportunity to develop and deliver a variety of communications, share the stories of our members and breeders, and contribute to the promotion and future success of the Holstein Friesian breed in New Zealand.

The position is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) and based at the HFNZ office in Hamilton.
