Are you a qualified electrician with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to high standards? Beattie Air Conditioning is looking for a Residential Installation Electrician to join our tight-knit, professional team in Christchurch.
For over 35 years, we’ve been the go-to choice for Canterbury homeowners looking for heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions they can trust. We design and install every system in-house, and we’re known for doing things properly - no shortcuts, just great workmanship.
What You’ll Be Doing
Much of your work will focus on residential installations - ranging in size and complexity - including:
Installing, wiring, and connecting heat pumps, ducted systems, and ventilation units in homes
Visiting job sites to scope installation requirements, confirm practical layouts, and identify any site-specific challenges early
Liaising with homeowners, builders, and other contractors to ensure smooth coordination from start to finish
Ensuring all work complies with New Zealand standards and reflects a high standard of workmanship
Working closely with our experienced project managers to deliver quality outcomes
Problem-solving on the job to keep installations on track
Maintaining clean, tidy workspaces and showing respect for our customers’ homes
All of our installations are designed in-house, so you’ll be actively involved and working from detailed, custom-built plans tailored to each project.
What We’re Offering
Pay: $40-$45/hour, depending on experience
Company vehicle for work-related travel

What You’ll Need
NZ Qualified and Registered Electrician with a current Practising Licence
Experience with residential HVAC or heat pump installations
Confident in site scoping and interpreting plans
Professional and personable when dealing with clients and site teams
Reliable, well-organised, and strong at managing your own time
A clean, full NZ driver’s licence
