Civil Leading Hand / Foreman

About us
Infradeploy is a growing NSW electrical infrastructure and civil contractor, accredited to ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001. We deliver public lighting, sports lighting, smart pole, EV charging and telecommunications infrastructure for government and corporate clients. With a large program of work secured and new plant on board, we’re establishing a dedicated civil division.

The opportunity
We’re looking for a hands-on Civil Leading Hand / Foreman to run our civil crew and help build the division from the ground up. You’ll spend most of your day on the tools, operating plant, pouring concrete and leading the crew from the front. You’ll also have a real say in who joins the team and how it runs. As the division grows, your role grows with it, with a clear path into Civil Supervisor. You’ll report to the Senior Project Manager and work closely with our Electrical Supervisor. Immediate start available.

Scope of works

  • Light pole and sports lighting pole footings

  • Trenching and conduit installation

  • Pit installation and replacement

  • Surface reconstruction and reinstatement, including concrete, asphalt, pavers and turf

  • Excavation and concreting for EV charging infrastructure

  • Civil works for telecommunications infrastructure, including pit and pipe

  • Traffic control and vac truck operations

Key responsibilities

  • Work on the tools every day: operating the excavator and tipper, concreting, trenching and reinstatement

  • Lead the civil crew on site, setting the pace and the standard

  • Help recruit, induct and train new crew members as the team grows

  • Develop the crew into a skilled, reliable, high-performing team

  • Deliver works from civil drawings to specification and program

  • Run site safety day to day, including prestarts, toolbox talks and following SWMS

  • Work within our established ISO 45001 safety and ISO 14001 environmental systems

  • Check Before You Dig plans and carry out service locating and potholing before excavating

  • Set up traffic control and coordinate the vac truck on site

  • Keep site diaries, record hold-point inspections and capture as-built information

Must have

  • Heavy rigid (HR) licence

  • Excavator ticket

  • Current white card

Experience we’re looking for

  • Civil construction experience in the public domain (council, road reserve or utility works)

  • Leading a crew while working alongside them

  • Pole footings, trenching, conduit, pits and surface reconstruction

  • Safe excavation near underground services, including electrical, gas, water and telco

  • Hands-on concreting: formwork, reo and pours

  • Reading and working from civil drawings

  • Operating tipper trucks and vac trucks

Highly regarded

  • Leading hand or foreman experience

  • Training or mentoring crew members

  • Traffic control tickets

  • Writing SWMS and risk assessments

  • Sports lighting or large pole installation experience

  • Telecommunications pit and pipe experience

Growth opportunity
This is a founding role in a new division. As the work and the team grow, you’ll take on more responsibility for leading multiple crews, planning works and developing your people. The aim is to step up into Civil Supervisor. Your career here grows with the division you help build.

Benefits

  • Company car

  • Build and grow your own team, with real influence on how the civil division runs

  • A clear path into Civil Supervisor as the division expands

  • A secured, long-term pipeline of government and corporate infrastructure work

  • New plant and equipment

  • ISO-accredited quality, safety and environmental systems already in place
