Not your typical transport role!

We’re looking for two experienced Transport Coordinators/Despatchers to join an established transport operation in Wiri.

These roles involve coordinating specialised, technical and niche freight movements rather than your typical pallet loads. Strong attention to detail, accurate documentation and the ability to plan loads efficiently are essential.

The Opportunities

1. Floater Despatcher | Monday to Friday

A varied role supporting different areas of the transport operation, including Metro, Linehaul and Intermodal Export. You’ll prepare manifests, plan routes, coordinate freight and provide despatch cover across different functions as required.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.00am/8.00am to 4.00pm/5.00pm.

2. Transport Coordinator | Thursday to Monday

Coordinate daily freight movements, manage truck allocations, build manifests and ensure loads are planned according to customer priorities, vehicle capabilities and operational requirements. You’ll also receipt stock and maintain accurate information in the transport management system.

Hours: Thursday to Monday, 7.00am/8.00am to 4.00pm/5.00pm.

Both positions offer a 40-hour working week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate freight movements and plan loads efficiently.

  • Liaise with customer site personnel and drivers to ensure freight operations run smoothly.

  • Prepare manifests, allocate jobs and maintain accurate transport records.

  • Monitor truck utilisation and help maximise operational efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate data in transport management systems and follow up outstanding jobs.

  • Provide professional customer service and resolve operational queries.

  • Follow health and safety procedures and support a safe working environment.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 years experience in transport despatch, transport coordination or logistics essential.

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with manifests, data entry and documentation. Must have good adaptability to clients needs.

  • Experience in load planning, truck scheduling and fleet coordination.

  • Confident computer skills and the ability to learn transport management systems.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • A strong commitment to health, safety and operational efficiency.

Experience handling specialised or technical freight would be an advantage.

Why Apply?

  • Competitive salary of $80,000–$85,000 per annum.

  • Full-time, 40-hour working week.

  • Varied roles within an established transport operation.

  • The opportunity to use your coordination and problem-solving skills in a specialised freight environment.
