The role

Help shape and protect a culture of integrity, accountability and trust. We are seeking motivated, capable and values-driven individuals to join Fraud Prevention and Internal Investigations.

As a Fraud and Corruption Prevention Officer, you will support the ATO's response to fraud, corruption, insider threat, integrity and personnel security risks through the delivery of operational and strategic fraud and corruption control activities. You’ll provide specialist advice, guidance and recommendations across a range of complex and sensitive integrity matters, helping to ensure the ATO effectively prevents, detects and responds to fraud, corruption and security risks.

Working under limited direction, you will undertake complex analysis, assess intelligence and evidence material, identify emerging risks and trends, and provide timely, evidence-based advice and recommendations to support informed decision-making. You’ll manage complex and sensitive matters and contribute to the delivery of fraud and corruption prevention initiatives that support the ATO's obligations under the Commonwealth Fraud and Corruption Control Framework, Protective Security Policy Framework, and associated legislation including the National Anti-Corruption Commission Act and Public Interest Disclosure Act.

Working collaboratively across the ATO and with internal and external business partners, you will contribute to the development and implementation of prevention, education and awareness activities, risk management approaches and operational responses to integrity threats. You’ll support the assessment and management of monitoring and detection activities, integrity incidents, personnel security concerns, employment suitability matters and other insider threat risks, ensuring appropriate governance and risk mitigation measures are applied.

As a senior member of the team, you will demonstrate leadership through the delivery of complex work, the provision of specialist advice and the support and development of colleagues. You’ll build productive stakeholder relationships, influence integrity outcomes, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support a culture of integrity, accountability and ethical behaviour across the organisation.

We embrace the strength of diversity through our people and the perspectives they bring.

We are committed to inclusive recruitment practices and encourage applications from people with disability or neurodivergence, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and individuals from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments can be provided throughout the recruitment process.

  • contributes to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of fraud, corruption, integrity and personnel security policies, processes, controls and prevention activities that strengthen organisational resilience and governance
  • analyses intelligence, information and risk indicators to identify emerging threats, assess vulnerabilities and deliver evidence-based advice and recommendations that strengthen fraud, corruption, personnel security and insider threat prevention, detection and response capabilities
  • builds and maintains productive relationships with a range of business partners, providing trusted advice, preparing high-quality briefs and influencing positive integrity outcomes
  • demonstrates sound judgement, initiative and leadership through the delivery of complex work, effectively managing competing priorities and sensitive matters, mentoring and developing colleagues, sharing expertise and contributing to a positive, high-performing team culture.
