Event Program Curation

  • Curate integrated programs for large-scale public events, festivals and concerts, brand environments and worlds, and government initiatives.
  • Develop programs for temporary, semi-permanent and permanent installations and activations in public, commercial and private spaces.
  • Define the overarching narrative, thematic and intellectual arc, and audience journey in response to the brief, setting and cultural context.
  • Create experiences that engage, entertain, stimulate or offer beauty, from still art and performance art across the full spectrum of entertainment.
  • Curate conservative, high-profile moments with restraint and discretion, respecting protocol, cultural sensitivities and the occasion.
  • Select formats, from exhibitions and installations to talks, performances and participatory experiences; shape pacing, show flow and ongoing programming as appropriate.
  • Research, source and brief artists, performers, speakers and specialist collaborators; develop content and prepare talent for delivery.
  • Translate curatorial ambition into deliverable plans, aligning content, space, technical needs, time and budget with the live delivery or operating team.

Project Management

  • Lead scope, feasibility, planning, procurement and pre-production, preparing each project for a coordinated handover to the live delivery team.
  • Translate briefs into scopes of work, production schedules, resource plans and clear responsibilities; manage dependencies and approvals.
  • Coordinate venue, technical, logistics and supplier requirements; integrate safety, permits, risk and contingencies into production planning.
  • Lead handover of approved programs, run-of-show documents, briefs, budgets and open actions; confirm ownership and readiness with the live team.
  • Support site visits, key rehearsals and on-site delivery as required; remain available for program decisions and contribute to debriefs and close-out.

    Business Development
    • Lead and support pitches with creative, design and production colleagues, presenting compelling programs with credible delivery plans and costs.
    • Understand client ambitions and audiences; identify opportunities that advance their objectives and DLE’s offering.
    Client Management
    • Lead client conversations through curation and pre-production, securing clear decisions and ensuring continuity at handover to the live team.
    • Communicate scope, budgets, schedules, risks and changes promptly; secure approvals and maintain a shared record of decisions.
    Creative Engagement
    • Collaborate with creative teams, architects and designers to connect program content with space, scenography, technology and the wider experience.
    • Use research, cultural insight and global trends to enrich the concept; brief collaborators clearly and equip the live team to protect the narrative.
    Team Collaboration
    • Lead multidisciplinary planning teams, suppliers and freelancers with clear briefs, ownership and timely communication.
    • Mentor junior producers in curation, planning and production through hands-on guidance, constructive feedback and clear responsibility.
    • Maintain organised project records and strengthen DLE’s planning, collaboration and delivery standards.
    Budget Oversight
    • Build and manage robust project budgets in Procim; plan forecasts, cash flow and contingencies against agreed profit targets.
    • Source and negotiate with vendors and talent; manage contracts, deliverables, fees and payment schedules with the relevant teams.
