About the role
As the face of Moana Road across the South Island, you'll be responsible for growing sales, strengthening existing accounts, developing new business, and bringing our unique range of giftware to life in stores. You'll be an experienced territory rep who knows what life on the road involves: regular travel, days away from home (around 8 per month), managing a large geographic area, and building strong customer relationships face-to-face.
Key responsibilities
Plan and conduct regular customer visits across the South Island, managing your territory and travel schedule efficiently. This will include around 8 nights away each month.
Drive territory sales and work towards agreed sales targets.
Generate orders, introduce new ranges and identify opportunities to increase customer spend and product ranging.
Proactively identify and develop new retail accounts that are a strong fit for Moana Road.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with our retail customers.
Merchandise Moana Road products and maintain strong in-store presentation.
Manage customer spend, activity, opportunities and account information through our CRM.
Provide feedback on customer needs, product performance, and opportunities within your territory.
Represent Moana Road at trade shows (2 per year), sales events and product launches as required.
Work independently and take ownership of your territory while maintaining strong communication with the Sales Manager.
About you
At least 3 years' experience in sales, ideally in a territory or wholesale sales role.
Proven experience managing and growing a sales territory.
Comfortable with frequent travel and spending multiple days away from home.
Strong new-business development and account-management skills.
Highly organised, self-motivated and confident working independently.
Energetic, honest and trustworthy, with a genuine ability to build lasting customer relationships.
Experience in the South Island and/or in the giftware, retail, or wholesale industries would be highly beneficial.
A genuine enthusiasm for the Moana Road brand, products, and culture.
