Summary of Job
The Downtown Beloit Association (DBA) is an award-winning Main Street program working to encourage balanced residential and commercial growth – to nurture a work-live-play community with an urban flair. The City is looking for a Casual Streetscape Coordinator to assist the DBA with maintaining downtown Beloit.
This position is responsible for watering seasonal plantings, weeding, trash removal, and general upkeep of public spaces within the district. It will also require on-site support in implementation of events throughout the season, including the Farmers' Market.
We are looking for someone who is an energetic and adaptable individual capable of multi-tasking, assuming responsibility and exercising personal initiative. Coordination of plans with the Executive Director and Promotions Coordinator for events, decorating seasonally throughout downing, and cleaning up events are expected in this position. Other duties may be assigned.
Casual: Year-round position, working up to 19 hours per week. Hours may vary by season.
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years of age upon employment and possess a valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day and 75 pounds occasionally.
- Knowledge of garden tools and power equipment, such as lawn tractor, weed and hedge trimmers, hose and accessories, golf cart and water pump required.
- Experience in grounds maintenance and equipment care preferred
Must be creative, enthusiastic, highly organized, motivated, dependable, patient and able to maintain discipline. Must be capable of following directions and have an ability to learn new skills. Possess good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to complete daily paperwork and work well with others from different cultures and backgrounds.
Wage: $16.00/hour
