Job title: IT Systems & ERP Support Specialist

Overview:

We're seeking a versatile IT professional to serve as the technology interface for our team. This is not a narrow ticket-queue role — you'll own the infrastructure connecting four sites, support end-user computing across the organization, and serve as the primary administrator and trainer for our in-house ERP system.

You'll balance traditional IT tasks (workstation setup, networking, printers, VPNs) with applications support, user training, and acting as the feedback conduit between our staff and our software development team.

About Our Company:

Subinitial creates simplified, automated test solutions. We are the test system partner that transforms ad hoc engineering concepts into fully engineered, documented, repeatable test solutions — enabling aerospace and advanced manufacturing teams to move faster, scale confidently, and reduce engineering burden. We have a track record of delivering reliably and quickly with over 300 satellites on orbit via our test solutions.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

IT Infrastructure & End-User Support

  • Set up, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripherals
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and onboarding/offboarding for staff
  • Administer and troubleshoot networking equipment across four physical sites, including inter-site connectivity
  • Configure and support VPN access for remote and traveling staff
  • Maintain backups, patching, security, and general system hygiene
  • Document the environment and procedures to ensure continuity

ERP Support & Administration

  • Develop deep working knowledge of our in-house ERP system — its data model, workflows, and interfaces
  • Serve as first-line support for ERP issues, distinguishing user error from genuine defects
  • Keep pace with frequent system changes and communicate updates to staff
  • Perform routine data maintenance, report generation, and light configuration changes
  • Work with the development team on deployments, testing, and rollout of new features

Training & User Enablement

  • Train staff on ERP and general computer usage, adapting your approach to a wide range of skill levels
  • Create and maintain plain-language documentation, quick-reference guides, and walkthroughs
  • Run refresher sessions when the system changes
  • Be patient, approachable, and genuinely helpful — you are the interface layer between our people and their computers

Feedback Loop & Issue Tracking

  • Gather feedback from users, reproduce problems, and write clear, reproducible bug reports
  • Translate business needs into well-scoped feature requests
  • Maintain the issue tracker so the development team receives signal, not noise
  • Follow issues through to resolution and close the loop with reporters
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Windows/Mac workstation setup, administration, and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, subnetting, VLANs, DNS/DHCP
  • Experience configuring and supporting VPNs
  • Comfort reading and reasoning about software you didn't write — including databases, APIs, logs, and scripts
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues
  • Strong self-direction: you can figure out unfamiliar systems without a formal training program
  • Adaptability — you're comfortable when the tools and processes around you shift

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel between our four sites as needed
  • Experience with an ERP, MRP, or other business-critical line-of-business application preferred
  • Scripting or light development experience (Python preferred; SQL a plus) preferred
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and support workflows preferred
