Technical Business Analyst - D365 Finance & Operations

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a business through the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and related financial systems.
This is a hands-on contract opportunity where you'll work closely with finance stakeholders, technical teams and external vendors to ensure the new systems and processes meet business requirements.
The project is already in the implementation phase, so we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bring strong financial systems knowledge and confidently challenge solutions where needed.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with finance and accounting teams to understand existing processes and design improved end-to-end workflows.
Translate complex finance and accounting requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
Support the implementation of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and related business systems.
Act as the key link between internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring solutions meet business requirements.
Review and challenge vendor configurations, recommendations and delivery outcomes.
Support data mapping, cleansing, migration, validation and reconciliation activities.
Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), end-to-end testing and defect resolution.
Validate financial transactions, system integrations, workflows and reporting outputs.
Support implementation readiness, cutover activities and post-go-live requirements.
About You
We're looking for a confident, delivery-focused Technical BA who brings a strong understanding of financial accounting processes alongside proven ERP implementation experience.
Ideally, you'll have:
Strong experience as a Senior or Technical Business Analyst, particularly across ERP or financial systems implementations.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) or similar ERP platforms.
Solid financial accounting knowledge, with the ability to understand and translate finance requirements into system solutions.
Experience working directly with finance and accounting stakeholders to improve business processes.
Hands-on experience across data migration, reconciliation, UAT and integration validation.
Strong vendor management skills, with the confidence to challenge technical solutions and hold delivery partners accountable.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and documentation skills.
A proactive, practical approach and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving project environment.
Experience across Dynamics CRM, Employment Hero or other financial systems would also be beneficial.
